Apologies again!
Hiatus continues!
(Artist is Roy Liechtenstein)
Once more, I must hang my head in shame, as my unforeseen circumstances have continued. That’s the thing about unforeseen circumstances I suppose…
Thank you for the outpouring of messages! I am indeed okay, as are my loved ones.
There will be no P series this week - they will come next week, after our regularly scheduled programming of a News Wrap Up on Saturday and a Mystery Themed Quiz on Sunday.
I requested some fun facts from you all, and was delighted with the responses! One fun fact was that I made 5 typos in my last apology post. Ouch!
Here is the coolest one I learned - in the words of S.G. herself:
”Today I have learnt about a beverage called Salep. It is a creamy drink made from wild orchid tubers and originates in Türkiye and is popular throughout the Levant region. It is often flavoured with orange blossom or rose water (which imo are such delicious flavourings, especially rose water).
Anyway, this drink became popular in England in the 1800’s as it was cheaper than coffee and tea. They called it Saloop. It became taboo to drink it when doctors began to believe it could be used to treat venereal diseases. So then coffee became popular in its place.”
We then had a platitudes-off:
S.G. struck with:
Warm regards,
I hit back with the expert move of:
Warmer regards
But sadly, I was immediately trumped by an Ace of Spades.
Planck regards
Here is a video, if you prefer.
Thank you all, and apologies for the delay. Please enjoy your week!
Planck+1 regards,
Alex
