ANSWER SMASH
Wednesday - QUIZCHANGER
Okay! Time for something a little different.
My favourite Jeopardy category (despite not getting very many of them) are their BEFORE + AFTER / ANSWER SMASH clues. So I thought I’d do a few of them!
Here’s how they work:
I’ll give a clue that at first seems completely nonsensical. Something like…
"Fighting protection where one might keep their vehicle insurance information”
Total nonsense. However, lets look for some synonyms.
Fighting protection could be…
Mouth guard
Referee
Shin Pad
Abstaining from a fight in the first place
Boxing Glove.
And were one might keep their vehicle insurance information could be…
Wallet
That thingy for blocking sun that people in movies always seem to keep their keys
Glove Box
In loose paper on the floor of the car
Lost to the various filing systems I’ve developed over the years and never maintained because I just can’t deal with this capitalist hellscape anymore and my brain is constantly filled with anxiety - screw it I’ll just never crash!
Aha! I see a pair!
BOXING GLOVE and GLOVE BOX
So your answer would “ANSWER SMASH” the two together to get:
Q: “Fighting protection where one might keep their vehicle insurance information”
A: BOXING GLOVE BOX
I ADORE questions that are “figureoutable”. And this one is amazing! As if you get half of the answer, you can use that as a clue to get the second half! Not only that, but getting the second half kind of… “locks in” your first half. Anyway, here are a few - in sets of five (for no particular reason… or are they?)
Note: They don’t all need to be two word answers, or necessarily share a WHOLE word.
I hope you enjoy!
